Shahid Kapoor wrapped up ‘Jersey’, where he plays a cricketer looking for a comeback after a hiatus. Not wanting to be written off by the world, the film portrays the sportsperson’s journey which is full of ups and downs. The film started shooting pre-pandemic but wrapped post lockdown. Team ‘Jersey’ was one of the first films to head back to sets under new safety protocols and finished the entire schedule at record speed. Now that the shoot is complete, the film is ready to hit theatres during Diwali. The release date of ‘Jersey’ has been finalized for November 5th 2021. Confirming the same, Shahid said, “‘Jersey’ is releasing in theatres this Diwali, 5th November 2021. It is the triumph of the human spirit, a journey I am so very proud of. This one’s for the team.” Producer Aman Gill feels, “Diwali is the biggest family festival of the year, and is the perfect time to bring ‘Jersey’.”
