Alia Bhatt has finished shooting for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It is said that ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is very close to the ace director and the Alia’s heart as they both have a personal attachment to the project. ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has been in the making for a while and the double lockdowns only delayed it even further. Talking about how long the journey was, Alia writes, “We started shooting ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ on the 8th of December 2019… and we wrapped the film now, two years later!” Bhansali seems to be in no mood to release it only on OTT, but he doesn’t have a release date for theatres in mind at the moment either.
