It’s that time of the year again when our Bollywood celebs get into the festive mood and wish their fans for Navratri. Also known as Durga Puja, the occasion is very dear to some who took to social media to spread the cheer. While Amitabh Bachchan kept his wishes for Navratri simple, Sushmita Sen wrote, “Shubho Devi Paksh. Ma Durga in all her glory, ushers in new beginnings, abundance of hope and courage… and of course, love! Happy Durga Puja and a blessed Navratri to you and all your loved ones!” Dream Girl Hema Malini explained the importance of these nine days when the festival is celebrated, “The auspicious Navaratra’s begin today, when Ma Durga resides amongst us for nine days, showering her blessings and ending with Vijaya Dashami to celebrate the conquest of the evil Mahishasura. May these holy days benefit all of us, bringing peace and happiness to everyone. Happy Navratri!” Sanjay Dutt on the other hand prayed for people’s good life, “Here’s wishing everyone a joyous Navratri, filled with lots of happiness and peace! May all your successes and aspirations come true!” The festivities for many celebs will continue for nine days before starting again for Diwali next month.
