The International Indian Film Academy Awards, popularly known as the IIFA Awards were held over the weekend in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. From Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to Pankaj Tripathi and Salman Khan, the who’s who of Bollywood descended in the Gulf to shine on awards night. Ash and Aaradhya joined Abhishek for an impromptu dance, a clip of which later went viral on the Internet. IIFA Awards 2022 was hosted by Salman Khan along with Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul. As for the trophies, Best Playback Singer Female and Male went to Asees Kaur for ‘Raatan Lambiyan’ and to Jubin Nautiyal for the same song from the film ‘Shershaah’. Debutants Sharvari Wagh and Ahan Shetty too were rewarded for their acts in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ and ‘Tadap’ respectively. Kriti Sanon took home the Best Actress award for her act in ‘Mimi’ whereas the award in the male category went to Vicky Kaushal for ‘Sardar Udham’. Best Director and Best Film were awarded to ‘Shershaah’ under the leadership of Vishnuvardhan.
