Even before filmmakers could open this case, the Suniel Shetty and Anurag Kashyap-starrer ‘File No 323’ is embroiled in controversy. Fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi has sent a Cease and Desist notice to the director and producers of ‘File No 323’ through his lawyer Ayush Jindal. For those who may not know, Choksi is the owner of Gitanjali Group, a retail jewellery firm with 4,000 stores in India. It is said that he has been referenced in the film which is reportedly inspired by the lives of India’s other alleged financial fugitives like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. Choksi has also demanded a public apology from the makers of ‘File No 323 through the served notice. The work on the film though isn’t stopped yet and is in the production stage.
