One of the fashion world’s biggest nights, The Met Gala took over New York City for the annual fund raising event. It’s a night of fashion on the world stage and how can South Asian talent be left behind? This year, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra brought their A-game on the carpet. Alia Bhatt was seen decked in a white gown walking the red carpet while Priyanka Chopra chose a black and white Valentino, in sync with the theme of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty, paying ode to the late fashion designer. She quickly changed into a red costume for the after-party. Interestingly, Met Gala 2023 was Alia’s debut and she chose to stick with the designer and friend Prabal Gurung’s ensemble. Priyanka on the other hand, had debuted back in 2017 and has been a staple since then. It is being reported that the Bulgari necklace with 11.16-carat Laguna Blu diamond which PCJ wore during the red carpet costs a whopping Rs 206 crore!
