Vicky Kaushal’s latest venture, ‘Chhaava’ is making waves even before its official release as it’s already raked in over Rs 11 crore in advance bookings as per reports. This impressive feat sets the stage for what could potentially be the biggest Bollywood opening day of 2025 so far. The film which is a biographical portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s valiant stand against the Mughal Empire led by Aurangzeb (played by Akshaye Khanna), also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai, Sambhaji’s wife. Meanwhile, the current record-holder for the highest opening day collection in Hindi cinema this year is Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ with a revenue of Rs 12.25 crore. Focused on India’s inaugural airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pak war, ‘Sky Force’ reportedly continued its strong performance securing Rs 22 crore on its second day and Rs 28 crore on its third. With ‘Chhaava’ on the brink of surpassing this record, Vicky Kaushal is set to celebrate his most successful opening day yet eclipsing all his previous box office records.
