The much-anticipated comedy-drama ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi is shifting gears from its originally planned theatrical release. Directed by Karan Sharma, the film was set to premiere in cinemas on May 9th but will now debut exclusively on Prime Video on May 16th. The decision comes in response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan prompting the makers to opt for a digital release. Acknowledging the prevailing security concerns, Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios issued this statement: “In light of the recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, directly to your homes on May 16 – only on Prime Video, worldwide. While we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating the film with you in the theaters, the spirit of the nation comes first. Jai Hind.” This change not only alters the medium of release but also pushes the film’s arrival by a week, ensuring audiences can experience the laughter and emotions of ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ from the comfort of their homes starting May 16th.
