Bollywood bid farewell to one of its towering icons as Dharmendra’s journey came to an end in Mumbai on November 24th. For over sixty years, his screen presence defined strength, charm and resilience which were immortalised in classics like ‘Sholay’ and ‘Chupke Chupke’. His departure at 89 was marked not by spectacle but by quiet dignity as his family chose to keep the final rites intimate, away from the public spotlight. Yet the silence could not dim the reverberations of his influence. After Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Hema Malini, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol reached the Pawan Hans Crematorium, industry stalwarts, from Amitabh Bachchan to Salman Khan and from Sanjay Dutt to Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan, gathered to honour a man whose artistry shaped generations. Fans were denied a last glimpse but continue to celebrate him through the countless roles that etched his name into cinematic history. With his upcoming film ‘Ikkis’ awaiting release, Dharm ji leaves behind not just memories, but a living testament to a career that bridged eras and redefined what it meant to be a hero on screen.
