Actor Rajpal Yadav’s request for bail was taken up by the Delhi High Court on Thursday but the matter was adjourned to Monday, February 16th 2026 leaving him in custody for another three to four days. Justice Swarana Kanta who is sitting as a single judge, reminded Yadav that he had repeatedly acknowledged his debt to a company and promised repayment without following through. “25 to 30 times you appeared in this Court and you were assisted by a senior counsel. Your senior counsel made the statements on your behalf. Mr Yadav appeared through VC (Video Conferencing) before me at least five times and said I will honor the statement made by my counsel, and if I go abroad, I will earn some money and make the payment. You are not misguided,” the Court remarked. During the hearing, Yadav’s lawyer sought suspension of his sentence citing a family wedding, while admitting that about 2 crores remained unpaid and assuring that it would be settled. The Court issued notice on the bail application but fixed the hearing for Monday, ensuring Yadav’s continued stay in Tihar jail until then.
