New day, new controversy, Akshay Kumar’s devotional track ‘Mahakal Chalo’ has faced backlash from a priest association for allegedly distorting aspects of Sanatan Dharma. Mahesh Sharma, the association’s president voiced his concerns over particular scenes in the music video including one where Akshay embraces a Shivling and undergoes panchamrit abhishek labelling them as “unacceptable” to a media house. The song, released today features Akshay Kumar teaming up with singer Dr Palash Sen and renowned choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The visuals depict Akshay and Palash showcasing their fervent devotion to Lord Shiva through spirited performances. Akki is also gearing up for the release of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ directed by Priyadarshan which features a star-studded cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal and rumoured actress Wamiqa Gabbi and is slated to hit theatres on April 2nd 2026.
