Akshay Kumar will soon be seen playing Tapan Das, the manager of Indian hockey team in his upcoming patriotic drama ‘Gold’. “I felt that the story of ‘Gold’ must be told. Till date a lot of us never knew when and how India won its first Gold Olympic medal. It was in 1946, when a team came together, practiced and won a medal after defeating England in its own country. Cinema can show these things in a very nice way. Had it been a documentary, no one would have watched it,” believes Akshay. ‘Gold’ is scheduled release on August 15 and will mark TV actress Mouni Roy’s Bollywood debut.
