Alia Bhatt was to shoot for her romantic saga, ‘Inshallah’, opposite Salman Khan. However post the actor’s fallout with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali just a few days back, the project was shelved. Hence, with free dates in hand, Alia has begun with the preparations for ‘Takht’. Directed by Karan Johar, this period drama features an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor among others. According to reports, Alia plays Dilras Banu Begum in this drama, which is based on prince Dara Shikoh and his brother and ruler Aurangzeb’s battle for the Mughal throne. Dilras Banu Begum was Aurangzeb’s wife. The film is scheduled to hit the screens in December 2020.
