The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will be one of the first films to go on the floors after the second lockdown. The state of Maharashtra is gradually initiating the unlocking phase, giving permission for film shoots. Alia is expected to report on the sets this month and she will reportedly be shooting for a dance sequence. The actress was shooting for this film when she had tested positive for Covid-19 back in April. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali also tested positive and the film’s shoot was brought to a halt. Soon after, the next lockdown was imposed and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ shoot was put on hold again. Apart from Alia, the film also features Ajay Devgn in a pivotal role. The film is based on the life of Gangubai, a brothel owner in Kamathipura, Mumbai from the 1960s.
