Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan could well be coming together for Mani Ratnam’s next project, which is said to be a bilingual to be made in Hindi and Tamil. While an official announcement is soon to be made, trade buzz suggests that the film in question will be a historical drama, based on Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan. If all goes well then this film will be a first when Ratnam will direct Bollywood stalwart Amitabh Bachchan, while he has already worked with heavyweights like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Ash made her acting debut with Ratnam’s ‘Iruvar’ in 1997 and went on to work with the filmmaker in ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavan’.
