Biopics and sequels are high in deband in Bollywood these days. Once a film is a hit, it is turned into a franchise and filmmakers cash in on the popularity of the brand. The 2018 hit ‘Badhaai Ho’ is being made into a sequel by the production house Junglee Pictures under the direction of Harshvardhan Kulkarni. After searching for a suitable title, the makers have zeroed in on ‘Badhaai Do’ instead of calling it ‘Badhaai Ho 2’ as it was speculated earlier. The original starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri and Sanya Malhotra and returned home with a bag full of awards at most shows. ‘Badhaai Do’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar is expected to hit the floors in June with a possibility of 2021 release.
