Hopes were high for the Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Bhediya’ when it released last week. It was about time that a creature-comedy had released, which also featured Kriti Sanon in the lead opposite Varun. But the box office collection didn’t live up to the hype surrounding the film. In India, the opening day collection of ‘Bhediya’ stood at Rs 7.48 crore. On Saturday it rose by over Rs 2 crore and minted 9.57 crore at the ticket windows. Sunday saw further growth, at Rs 11.50 crore. The three-day box office collection of ‘Bhediya’ hence amounts to Rs 28.55 crore, which is shy of over Rs 30 crore compared to Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Drishyam 2’. The film had collected Rs 64.14 crore by the end of the first weekend and so far ‘Drishyam 2’ has collected Rs 143.90 crore in India. The worldwide gross of ‘Bhediya’ for the first three days of release stands at Rs 43.67 crore.
