Boman Irani today has a variety of roles to his credit, from comedy to serious ones, he has done it all. The Parsi ‘uncle’ stepped into the industry at a very later stage in life, but he reminisces how he was into Bollywood since childhood, “As a kid I used to watch films that were shown on Doordarshan every Sunday. They used to be great and socially relevant flicks of Bimal Roy and other filmmakers. I was influenced by those films and my childhood was completely different because of those films.” Boman adds how there is a lack of such culture now, “Today we have 180 channels running 24×7 but we don’t get to watch these classic films. It is important to show these movies to the younger generation.”
