The box office has turned into a battlefield and ‘Border 2’ is the latest entrant. From its thunderous debut on January 23rd, the film has been unstoppable racing past milestones with astonishing speed. In just five days, it stormed to ₹187 crore in India and ₹239.2 crore worldwide according to Sacnilk. The opening weekend alone showcased its dominance with Friday bringing in ₹30 crore, Saturday climbing to ₹36.5 crore and Sunday exploding to ₹54.5 crore, a surge of nearly 50 percent. Monday proved even stronger at ₹59 crore, before Tuesday’s dip to ₹10.17 crore by evening, yet the film still stood poised to cross ₹200 crore within hours.

The momentum did not fade with time. On Republic Day 2026 audiences flocked to see ‘Dhurandhar’, another cinematic giant which carved its name into history by entering the ₹1,000 crore India gross club. Remarkably, it became the first single-language film to achieve this feat. Over 53 days, ‘Dhurandhar’ amassed ₹835 crore domestically, while its overseas earnings reached ₹294.2 crore pushing its worldwide total to an extraordinary ₹1,294 crore.

Together, these two films have reshaped the landscape of Indian cinema, proving that audiences are hungry for spectacle and scale. ‘Border 2’ roars with fresh energy, while ‘Dhurandhar’ stands tall as a record-breaking phenomenon, both redefining what success looks like on the big screen.
