Netflix has rolled out ‘Dhurandhar’ for streaming after its massive theatrical success where it collected over Rs 1,000 crore across the world. The release however sparked a wave of criticism online. On Friday morning, many users on X accused the platform of offering a “censored” cut of the film. The listed runtime showed 3 hours and 25 minutes, noticeably shorter than the 3 hours and 34 minutes that audiences saw in cinemas. Reports earlier suggested that the Censor Board had asked the makers to mute two words and one dialogue referencing Baloch, which led to a revised certificate showing a duration of 3 hours 28 minutes 56 seconds. Viewers also noticed that the Netflix version seemed to run faster than the theatrical release from December 5, 2025. “The difference is because Netflix playback uses 25 frames per second (fps) while movies are generally shot at 24 fps. So this means your playback at Netflix will be 4 percent faster overall. This translates to approximately 9 minutes shorter runtime,” explained an X user with the name Vivek Verma. Meanwhile, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has already crossed Rs 1,300 crore globally, cementing its blockbuster status.
