Dia Mirza gave birth to a baby boy on May 14th but did not reveal much about her son with husband Vaibhav Rekhi. It was only today that she came out in the open to talk about it since it was a delicate phase for the entire family. The son, whom the couple has named Avyaan Azaad Rekhi, was born premature. Talking about her difficult journey, Dia says, “Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU.” The actress developed health complications while being pregnant and that affected the child as well. “A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent a very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensure the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section,” informs Dia. She also shared a glimpse of the newborn’s tiny hand holding her fingers.
