‘Toofaan’ is awaited with a bated breath for multiple reasons. Fans are eager to see Farhan Akhtar playing the role of a boxer where he has worked super hard for months to prep. The other reason is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who is directing the film. Released some time back, the ‘Toofaan’ poster and teaser received positive feedback from fans and critics alike. Since then audiences are looking forward to release of the film. But it seems now you’ll have to wait a little while longer. ‘Toofaan’ is now postponed due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in India. Although it is to release on Amazon Prime Video, the makers released this statement, “The situation in India is truly heart-breaking. In light of the severity of the situation, our focus is on supporting our employees, their families and in helping the wider community. Therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the release of our film ‘Toofaan’ until the situation improves.” No new date has been announced yet.
