Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt-starrer and Zoya Akhtar-directed ‘Gully Boy’ is selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. The film has been nominated in the Best International Feature Film category. On this occasion, the film’s lead actor Ranveer Singh commonly shared the team’s enthusiasm, “We are so thrilled that ‘Gully Boy’ has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.” Ranveer portrays Murad Ahmed, aka, Gully Boy in the film while Alia plays the character of his girlfriend Safeena Firdausi. The story is written by Reema Kagti jointly with Zoya. Made on a big budget of Rs 84 crore, ‘Gully Boy’ was released on February 14, 2019 in India and collected over Rs 230 crore worldwide.
