Drishyam Films’ & Eros International’s film Har Kisse ke Hisse…Kaamyaab directed by debut filmmaker Hardik Mehta is all set to make its World Premiere at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival, one of Asia’s most prestigious film festivals to be held from 4-13 October 2018. The film will have a red carpet premiere with its cast and crew on 5th October, during the opening weekend of the top-tier festival in Busan, South Korea.

Kaamyaab stars veteran actor Sanjay Mishra in the title role, who’s won audiences’ hearts with his award-winning performances in Masaan, Ankhon Dekhi and Golmaal Again, among others. The film is based on an interesting premise of a seasoned character actor who decides to come out of retirement and begins a quest for a record of some sorts, that elusive 500th role, the one for which he shall be remembered forever. The film will be a great trip down memory lane for all fans of the heydays of 80s Bollywood, as well as an eye opener on the journey of Hindi cinema for newer audiences.

Earlier this year, Eros and Drishyam announced a collaboration to jointly produce four films to pave the way for presenting a new wave of cinema that the companies have come to stand for. The first of those four projects, Kaamyaab boasts of a stellar ensemble cast including Deepak Dobriyal (of Tanu Weds Manu fame), popular South actress Isha Talwar (Tubelight and Kaalakandi), Sarika Singh and Avtar Gill, among others. To celebrate the festival premiere, producers have also revealed an illustrated first look of the film.

Kaamyaab is Hardik Mehta’s debut feature after his National Award winning short documentary Amdavad Ma Famous that travelled the festival circuit and is now available on Netflix. He has also worked on critically acclaimed films such as Lootera and Trapped. The film will be screened in the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’, Busan’s main section for new-age filmmakers to look out for in Asia.

Interestingly, Kaamyaab is Drishyam Films’ second venture to screen at Busan after Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dhanak (Rainbow) which made its Asia premiere at Busan 2015. For its twenty third edition, the Busan film festival has selected 323 films from 79 countries. That includes 115 world premieres and 25 international premieres.

Hardik Mehta, who has written and directed Kaamyaab, says, “I am absolutely thrilled that my first feature film, Kaamyaab, will have its World Premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival. I’m glad that Drishyam & Eros supported my vision, and that Sanjay Mishra sir agreed to bring the inimitable character of ‘Sudhir’ to life. I have tried to bring a mix of quirky humor and pathos to the film, and I hope it will be able to find a place in the audiences’ heart within India and abroad.”

Ridhima Lulla, Chief Content Officer of Eros International, says ” At Eros, we are very happy to have the first of our collaborations with Drishyam – Kaamyaab enjoy a world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. The film is richly deserving of this honor and reaffirms our faith in backing cinema where compelling story telling, stellar performances and direction takes precedence with relatable and engaging content. ”

Founder of Drishyam Films and the producer of Kaamyaab, Manish Mundra says “ We are extremely proud that our next release Kaamyaab will have its World premiere at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival. Our philosophy at Drishyam Films is to give young directors and talent a platform to create world-class cinema. We believe in the film and its great to see it getting its due.” The film is slated for a winter 2018 release in India.
