Two decades after the release of ‘Fanaa’, Kajol revisited memories of its demanding production, highlighting the extreme conditions faced during filming. She spoke of the biting cold in Poland, where temperatures plunged to minus 27 degrees Celsius and recalled standing on a frozen lake dressed in a delicate chiffon salwar kameez while Aamir Khan was comfortably layered in a jacket. “20 years to ‘Fanaa’. My daughter was two-and-a-half years old. But what I remember most was Poland in all its glory… -27 degrees Celsius, beautiful forests and sleds used on sidewalks! And, of course, the fact that I wore a thin salwar kameez while everyone else was dressed in goose down. What a blast from the past!” The film, which explored the romance and heartbreak between Zooni and Rehan, also featured Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher and Tabu, and remains etched in memory for its blend of love, betrayal and tragedy.
