Arriving punctually and ready to celebrate the trailer launch, the seasoned actor found himself waiting for his colleagues Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri who appeared more than an hour later. By this time, Nana seemed to have already decided to walk away, a move that instantly stirred conversation across the industry. Director Vishal Bhardwaj addressed the audience with candour, remarking, “Nana has stepped away from the event, but I still want to talk about him. To me, he is like the mischievous child in a classroom, the one who bullies everyone yet keeps the atmosphere lively. I have known him for 27 years, though this is the first time we are collaborating. His presence would have added so much, but since we kept him waiting for an hour, he chose to leave in his trademark fashion. We did not take it negatively because this is exactly what makes Nana, Nana Patekar.” The film also marks a long-awaited reunion between Shahid Kapoor and Bhardwaj with its release slated for February 13, 2026.
