Ranbir Kapoor floored fans and invited the ire of naysayers with his first look as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari helmed ‘Ramayana: Part 1’. The actor recently revealed being offered the part four years ago and he instinctively said ‘no’ since he didn’t feel he would do justice to the role. Interestingly, this project coincided with a special moment in Ranbir’s life, “There was a time, a period in my life, when I needed to change my life and my lifestyle. I became a father for the first time. I think the sweet coincidence of playing Lord Ram and becoming a father was very much needed. They were turning points in my life.” As the first step in prepping for the part, Ranbir revealed he watched Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ and followed it up with a “lot of prep”. ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ will hit the screens during Diwali 2026.
