The dispute surrounding Ranveer Singh’s departure from ‘Don 3’ reached a decisive point when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) declared that the actor would face a non-cooperation order. The announcement followed months of silence after Farhan Akhtar lodged a formal complaint with the body. At a press briefing, Ashok Pandit who serves as FWICE Chief Advisor and also heads the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) recounted how the federation repeatedly sought Ranveer’s explanation but received no reply until the eleventh hour, when he questioned their authority to intervene. After extended discussion, FWICE President BN Tiwari stated, “The Federation issues a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh starting right now and none of our members will work with him.” The move underscores the seriousness with which the federation treats commitments between actors and filmmakers and highlights the tension that can arise when projects of high visibility are abandoned midstream.
