As Indian cinema prepares to welcome back a timeless classic, ‘Umrao Jaan’ (1981) is poised for a grand return to the silver screen this Friday, June 27th. The digitally restored re-release has sparked a wave of nostalgia and the excitement is set to crescendo with a glittering premiere hosted by none other than Muzaffar Ali and Rekha – the visionary director and the film’s luminous star. The special screening at PVR Maison, Jio World Drive in Mumbai was a red-carpet spectacle. A constellation of Bollywood’s finest – Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon, Dimple Kapadia, Helen, Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, AR Rahman, Suniel Shetty, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and many more were on the guest list to grace the occasion.
