Shilpa Shetty Kundra has chosen to publicly address the controversy surrounding her financial situation offering clarity after days of speculation. Following her lawyer Prashant Patil’s dismissal of reports about an alleged income tax raid, the actress released her own statement. She expressed that she is “deeply saddened by the baseless attempt to link my name to this matter” and emphasized, “My association with the company was strictly in a non-executive capacity, with no role in its operations, finances, decision making or any signing authority. In fact, like several other public figures, I had endorsed certain products for the home shopping channel in a professional capacity for which payments due to me remain outstanding.” Meanwhile, Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra remain under investigation by Mumbai police in connection with a ₹60 crore criminal breach of trust case. The Economic Offenses Wing has added cheating charges after businessman Deepak Kothari alleged he was defrauded in a loan-cum-investment deal tied to Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
