Amidst a whole lot of controversy, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Simran’ hit the screens last Friday and opened to a dull response. The film received mixed reviews from the critics and collected Rs 2.43 crore on its first day. With a marginal growth, the film made Rs 3.40 crore and Rs 3.65 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Farhan Akhtar’s musical, ‘Lucknow Central’ too released on the same day, with a poor first day collection of Rs 1.74 crore. Weekend brought increase in numbers with Rs 2.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 3 crore on Sunday. Overall, both the films have fared badly at the ticket windows.
