After Akshay Kumar turning positive with Covid-19 and the pandemic having its second wave in India, producer-director Rohit Shetty has taken a tough call. Shetty has decided to postpone the release of his upcoming film with Akki, ‘Sooryavanshi’. It was to release on April 30th this year after it was delayed from the last year’s original release date of March 24, 2020. That was the first time when ‘Sooryavanshi’ was postponed, keeping in mind the lockdown in the country. And now, it has been pushed again, with no new release date in sight. After Shetty met the chief minister of the state, his PR machinery issued a statement, “The Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Uddhav Thackeray, had a discussion with director Rohit Shetty yesterday. In the meeting, Mr Thackeray appreciated Rohit Shetty as he took the brave and difficult decision of postponing ‘Sooryavanshi’ owing to the current Covid situation in the state.” It is also said that the makers of the Kangana Ranaut forthcoming biggie, ‘Thalaivi’ may also postpone it. Although the same is yet to be confirmed.
