Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are gearing up for ‘Gadar 2’’. ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ released in 2001 and due to its patriotic theme, it went on to become a superhit. So is it safe to say that the masses like watching the duel between two countries? Refuting the same, lead actor Sunny Deol says, “The essence lies in humanity, not in taking or giving. There is love on both sides (India-Pakistan). It is the political game that creates all this hatred. And you will see the same in this film as well, that the people do not want us to fight with each other.” Ameesha too leads from the front in this film and has her fair share of criticism. Talking about the sequel and the new film, the actress said, “People called ‘Gadar’ gutter before it released. I had done two films with Hrithik and played a college student in a film with Salman. So they told me why am I taking up a mother’s role in ‘Gadar’. But I took up the challenge. Same thing happened for ‘Gadar 2’. People told me have you seen your Instagram? You are the ‘Lazy Lamhe’ girl. How will you play a mother to a 22-year-old? But I took up the challenge again.” And that’s how both the films shaped-up. ‘Gadar 2’ is scheduled to release on August 11th, just before India’s Independence Day.
