Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘2.0’ is facing a last-minute controversy, with Cellular Operations Association of India (COAI) filing a complaint against the film’s concept. Reports state that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting have received a written complaint, stating it to re-examine the trailer and teaser of ‘2.0’ as it shows mobile phones and towers in a bad light. COAI members, telecom operators Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea have alleged that the content of the film is defamatory and that it spreads misinformation about the adverse impact of mobile towers and mobile phones. The complaint further demands that the Censor Board should revoke the film’s certification and the exhibition of the movie be suspended.
