This year’s Diwali was expected to be a cracker of a time for Bollywood as two films released during the festive season . ‘Ram Setu’ and ‘Thank God’ both hit the theatres the day after Diwali and the makers were hoping for a windfall at the ticket counters. While ‘Ram Setu’ stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha, ‘Thank God’ sees Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul Preet Singh and Nora Fatehi among others. In the race at the box office, ‘Ram Setu’ seems to be the winner as of now. It collected Rs 15.25 crore on its opening day whereas the 2nd day figure stood at Rs 11.40 crore. The film is leading with Rs 26.65 crore in two days at the box office. ‘Thank God’, on the other hand, had to make do with Rs 8.10 crore and Rs 6 crore in the first two days. Since the weekend is just round the corner, it will be interesting to see how much can the films make at the theatres opening week.
