Vidya Balan will foray into Telugu cinema with a biopic as she plays Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NT Rama Rao aka NTR) wife – Basavatarakam, in a film based on the late actor’s life. Speaking about her character in the film, Vidya says, “People know Basavatarakam as NTR’s wife, as she was not really a public figure. People knew very little about her and that interested me as an actress. There is not much information available about her in the public domain, hence I have a lot of preparations to do for my role. This is my first Telugu film and it’s exciting.” Vidya Balan will be directed by Krish and the team is scheduled to begin the shoot from this month.
