Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan will reunite for a gangster film, which was to be directed by Honey Trehan. However, Vishal Bhardwaj, who is co-producing the project, has now stepped in to helm the film following creative and artistic differences with the original director. The yet untitled project is based on journalist and writer Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, wherein Deepika will portray a feared lady don Rahima Khan, aka Sapna Didi. Irrfan will play a local gangster in the film. The biopic is scheduled to release in the latter half of 2018.
