When ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ first arrived in cinemas, Aamir Khan insisted audiences would not find it on any OTT service. His plan was to make the film available only through YouTube after its theatrical run. That stance has shifted. The movie is now preparing for a digital debut on SonyLiv which described the launch as “a special milestone for the platform, as ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ becomes the platform’s first Hindi theatrical film to premiere on the service”. The exact premiere date remains under wraps, with the streamer promising it will be “released soon”. Interestingly, Aamir had earlier stirred controversy by criticising OTT releases within six months of a theatrical run, yet the film appeared on YouTube just six weeks after its June 20 release, arriving on August 1st for a rental price of ₹100.
