The final nail in the coffin seems to be here and this may affect all Bollywood films waiting in the wings to release worldwide. The Government of Maharashtra has invoked the epidemic law in the state and has asked all theatre owners, especially in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur to close down temporarily. The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has spread all over the world and hence most governments are issuing advisory against public gatherings. In line with that, Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra has ordered the shutdown of theatres in the state. This move is expected to incur losses to the tune of thousands of crores to the filmmakers and theatre owners but no one is complaining as safety always comes first.
