Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar is churning out one hit after the other. But she opines that life for producers is difficult considering the growing list of taxes, “The film industry is paying a lot of tax and if you speak to any producer, very few films are making money. Films are bleeding because with multiplexes, taxation, service tax, luxury tax, etc, it is just crazy. It is not possible to break even. You have to make your films really tight and hope that they work.” In the past, Farah Khan too has expressed her displeasure with the service tax levied on actors.
